About

A New York-based artist, actor and educator whose work spans network television, prestige drama, studio franchises, and stage.

He most recently starred as series lead Jacob Hassani in NBC's The Hunting Party, building on a career defined by physical, emotionally charged, nuanced performances that place him at the center of mainstream American storytelling. He is perhaps best known for his nine seasons as David Singh across The CW's The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl, one of the longest-running recurring roles in the Arrowverse. He has also recurred opposite Claire Danes in Showtime's Homeland, Katherine Heigl in Netflix's Firefly Lane (LEO Award, Best Supporting), Carey Elwes in Art of More, and on Shameless, Get Shorty, Shooter, Virgin River, The Good Doctor, and more. His studio feature credits include 300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch, Godzilla, The Bourne Legacy, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Black Adam, and White House Down, and he has worked alongside some of the biggest names in the industry.

A Canadian-American actor of Egyptian descent, Sabongui is equally at home on stage, with theatre credits ranging from world premiere new works to Pulitzer Prize-winning plays. A producer, educator, and fierce advocate for representation in the arts, he brings nearly 200 credits and a commitment to authentic storytelling to everything he does.

Educator

Patrick's approach as a teacher mirrors his approach as a performer: every technique is tested against the reality of professional work.

His work doesn't stop at the classroom door. As a curriculum architect and academic leader, Patrick builds learning communities, not just lesson plans — spaces where intersecting voices and experiences aren't an afterthought but the actual material the work is made from. Every project he takes on as a working actor feeds back into that vision, and every emerging artist he trains pushes it forward in return. He trains actors to move fluidly across mediums — theatrical, cinematic, self-tape, whatever the room demands — because the modern artist doesn't get to specialize in just one. At its center is a simple conviction: that a sustainable culture is one where every human in the room is valued, and where artists are taught to think for themselves, not just perform on command.

The result is a practice grounded in authentic self-knowledge — not theory for its own sake, but craft in service of truth. It's the same principle Patrick built his career on: Be yourself. Professionally.

  • Material selection & scene development
  • Rehearsal coaching through final production
  • Shoots on-location, in-studio, or on your campus
  • Professional & student mixed production crew
  • Multi-camera theatrical work, self-tapes & monologues
  • Fundraising, marketing & promotional strategy

This program offers seniors a complete, professionally produced showcase experience — built and led by a working actor with nearly 30 years in the industry. Material selection, rehearsal, and final production are handled start to finish, spanning cinematic scenes shot on-location, in-studio, or on campus, multi-camera theatrical work, self-tapes, and theatrical monologues. Productions are crewed by a mix of industry professionals and student participants — because hands-on production is as central to the program as the performance itself. Every phase reflects current industry standard — not legacy curriculum — giving students a real, competitive edge regardless of market.

Flexible delivery includes an intensive seminar or a multi-phase program, in-person or hybrid, using institutional or independent production resources. Programs also include consulting on fundraising, marketing, and promotional strategy to ensure the right industry eyes are watching.

Students not only gain experience and agency by participating in the production of their materials, they graduate with a comprehensive portfolio and a hustle practice that will fuel their pursuit of a career as a freelance artist.

"Patrick Sabongui changed my life in ways I could have never imagined. He transformed the BFA Acting program into a place where my cohort and I could flourish and grow in our craft exponentially. By the end of the year, I had transformed from an aspiring actor with crippling insecurities into an artist with a strong artistic voice that felt authentic."

Antonyio Artis

"He leads with love. He has created an atmosphere where actors and teachers feel like family. He holds space for his students, encourages them, and truly sees them. I have learned more about myself as a person and as an actor in his class than I ever have before."

Zara Zeidman

BFA Acting '24

"Patrick Sabongui is more than just an educator — he is a visionary leader who builds programs, cultivates community, and empowers individuals. He doesn't just teach you how to act; he teaches you how to be."

Nathaelle Denis

BFA Acting '22

"He is an unbelievable person to have in your corner, and he manages to be in everyone's corner. He coached me remotely while on set filming his own projects because he believed in me enough to make it work."

Madison Tamayo

BFA Acting '23

"From day one, Patrick has always been a motivator — even when I didn't know I needed motivation. He was able to quickly gain my trust in the most natural, humanly spiritual way possible. Under his guidance I signed with a manager and booked my first professional role."

Ebenezer Adjei

BFA Acting '23

"His door was always open — literally and figuratively. During the hardest moments of the pandemic, he showed up for us in ways that went far beyond the classroom. He created community where there was none, and that changed everything."
